CAEN - Saint Pierre Church

Nearly Correct it is in Fact the St Jean church.
Now I look again you are correct it is St Pierre.

I have a good one for you guys. I'll give you a hint, it's 1945 and it's a joint US and British mission. Their is the _______ Panzer-Grenedier Division taking the north and northeast portions of the high ground over looking this lake.

If you guess what the name of this lake is, you will forever be known as bawse.

Bawse me then....

Valli di Comacchio

Quite easy. Again direction of coastline gave it away. Could be northern Germany but I knew these an awfull lot
of Germans where in Italy until the defeat.
where

I was contimplating if I should crop out the Adriactic, but figured I'd leave it in to make the question a little easier. But Bawse it is, Drecks.

Poteau Ambush to be specific. Wiki: "On December 18, 1944, very early in the morning, the American "14th Cavalry Group" had gotten in an ambush set by "Kampfgruppe Hansen" of the 1st SS on the road between Poteau and Recht. Propaganda movies were made by the Germans shortly after those fights and the numerous photos are often used as typical photos from the Battle of the Bulge."

Not sure what you're on about. It was part of the contest.

Yep. When I started working on Razornecks Poteau. I realised how many photos that I have seen before were part of that ambush.

Married A Greek wife, I would be ashamed when I missed this one.
Beevors Battle of Crete is a good read.

The Brits really missed an opportunity there.

Excellent, and of course, the answer is correct.

I've read Beevor's books on Berlin and Stalingrad and really enjoyed them.

Next pic. This is famous enough, I don't think it needs a hint.
