I would like to begin working on some meshes for use in a CE3 mod (hopefully FE will have an extensive SDK like RO2 does).

What heights will Festung Europa be using for the following:?

Standing Soldier Height?
Crouched Soldier Height (weapon unshouldered)?
Crouched Soldier Height (weapon shouldered)?

Crouched Cover Height?
Prone Cover Height?
Minimum Door Width?
Minimum Door Height?

Auto-step-up Height?
Minimum Trench Width to allow Soldier Movement?

Excellent 2yr old question.

My guess the player collision will be a cylinder. Some dims would be appreciated.

Devs?

This should be pretty basic knowledge...  You can rescale assets quite easily in any 3d content creator.  Make a tree 1000 meters tall and it can be rescaled to be 5 meters before it goes into the game.  Just make whatever you make proportional and it'll be fine.

And you can scale stuff in the UDK as well, but that doesn't answer the question.

Devs have most likely adopted some scale. My guess it's 1uu = 1cm (players 192uu tall x 96uu dia.).

Right/Wrong?

Ummm...  What is wrong with deciding on, say '1uu = 10cm', then giving sample data based on that scale?  Do you not recall the problems we had in DH with scale?  An absolute scale is needed, so modelers/mappers/etc. can set proportions properly.  How many houses had windows that were too high/low for weapons to rest properly on?  How many fences/etc. had the same problem?  How many objects couldn't be jumped/mantled onto?  Of course, most of these wouldn't be an issue if FE uses dynamic stance and action forecasting.

We use the standard 1uu = 1cm scale for Festung Europa. Characters are 185 cm (uu) tall at standing height. Although we may randomize the height a little to make things interesting and diverse.

THANK YOU! :)

By my calculations, based on UE3's 1uu=2cm (multiply by 2 for FE).

In Unreal Units:

Standing Cover = 140-144

Kneeling Cover = 90-96

Prone Cover = 25-32

Auto Step Up = 30-36 (may be as big as 48)

Stair Steps = 15-16 rise x 30-32 run (taller steps will work, but will look "un-natural")

Crouch Under = 128-130

Crawl Under = 64-70 (may be as big as 96-100, dependant on actual collision model)

Doors = 224uu ht x 96 wide min. (225 x 100)

Trench/Corridor width = 256 ht x 128 wide. (260 x 130)

Indoor Cielings = 300-304 ht

Floors = 30-32 thick

Indoor Walls = 30-32 thick

Numbers given in powers of 2 and new UE4's multiples of 5, depending on the grid scale used in the UDK. Either should work.

Of course, above values are only my estimates. Actual FE values may vary.
