I've already donated $89 or so towards War of Rights, an American Civil War video game in development.

FE is what I need more than that. I'd be willing to lay down $200 to invest in a future full of high quality WWII games.

I would be more then willing to donate what is needed to this game but it would go further if there was a way to donate like other new games do now. If you donate a certain amount you get premium time or special camo or something, early access into beta, if you donate a higher amount you get more goodies and so on. Although I'm not sure if this game is setup to do those things I just know from experience that if you get a little in return people are willing to give a lot more. I just know a lot of people that do crowd funding and get burned because the product wasn't released or not what they said it was. The biggest questions though is this setup like RO where you rent a server and purchase the game or is it on it's own server and you log into it and the devs control everything?

Rewards for donations is always a good idea.  One thing that would work well for higher tiers would be to have your face become part of the game, by scanning it, like this

Others could include using your voice for characters, etc, right up to putting YOU in the game.  (Assets are needed anyway, so offering fans a chance to really getting into the game is a no-brainer.)

At this state my max would be $20, the more info becomes available I'm more inclined to go to $50.

I'd pay to have my face and voice in the game, combined with just giving money because I absolutely want to see this game come to fruition.

I couldn't give more than $1000 at the moment. But this is one of the few games I believe in.

That would make for a great pledge reward, and, with the advances in photogrammetry, it no longer requires a studio to 3D scan someone's face/body.

If you make that a thing on kickstarter, I will buy.

I would be willing to donate once I found out this is going to be more than just a shooter like RO2. If this is going to be truly a squeal to Darkest Hour with all of the vehicles as well as equipment then yes I would be willing to donate money.

This game is technically the sequel to Darkest Hour: Europe '44 - '45, but they decided to go with the name Festung Europa.  Some like to call it Darkest Hour 2.

Seems to. I hope not but Information about this game is a deasaster for me. If they would show us some more short videos...

I don`t really know what`s going on with the game, if they quitted or not. Don`t know.

Yeah the lack of information doesn't bode well

One thing to keep in mind is that this is an incredibly large-scale project for a first-time group, and it is using an engine that was only released to the public two and a half years ago and is still being worked on, expanded, and debugged.  DH1 was a trivial change to an existing game by comparison.  (ONLY by comparison, as anyone who worked on it well knows. :shudder: )

To my mind, the videos thus far produced were premature, but the enthusiasm is completely understandable.  One way to put it as I see it is that the devs are planning an Everest expedition after binge-watching mountain climbing movies and documentaries, and having announced their intentions, are only now coming to realize just how much is involved.  Is it possible?  Of course!  It simply will take a LOT more time and effort than they imagined, which is also completely understandable.

I wouldn't invest anything in what is quite possibly vapourware at this point. I try to remember to check this forum every six months or so, and never see anything new. The last thing I saw was a brief trailer - a very well-made one, admittedly - and that was apparently June 2016, so almost a year ago now. It feels longer.

Presumably if you want people to invest in your project then you'd at least show signs of life, and try to maintain a basic level of enthusiasm. I for one find that difficult with this game, and it's something I've had an interest in since it was first announced.

My personal opinion would be that any money spent on this game would be wasted, as it will likely never see the light of day. Whilst I'd love to be proven wrong on that front, I certainly wouldn't risk my money to find out; not with the current media 'strategy' anyway, which appears to be 'if anyone asks, just say we're still alive.'
