Subject: About Darkest Hour

On a somewhat belated note, Jackboot Games would like to issue an official statement regarding our current position on the Darkest Hour modification for Red Orchestra: Ostfront '41-'45.

As many of you in the community are aware, several of our Festung Europa developers also worked on Darkest Hour from its inception in 2006 until 2011 (release 5.1). Those of us who were involved in development on DH during those particular years are still extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish, and while we realize it was not necessarily a perfect product, we were nonetheless satisfied at that time we had reached an admirable finishing point to our work which was to create a realistic, meticulously researched, exciting gaming experience that would endure.

To clarify, or eliminate any potential confusion, it is important to state that Jackboot Games is not responsible for any of the relatively recent and subsequent development activities, creative decisions, or changes made to the project (including release 6.0 and after). Additionally, we are not affiliated or associated with the project any longer in other areas - whether that be financially, materially, promotionally, or otherwise.

All concerns, comments, and suggestions regarding Darkest Hour in its continuing state - good, bad, or otherwise - should be addressed to the current development group via the game's Steam community page.

With our continued thanks for your support,

The Festung Europa Development Team and Jackboot Games, LLC
