The 29th are still in the process of producing a Churchill Crocodile, as well as a man portable US flamethrower. The Manportable flamethrower will have all the deficiencies mentioned by Lowes and be available only on specific maps, however both projects are someway from completion.

Not initially, but the hard part is making a working flame thrower, after that it is tweaks based on model, anims and ignition/firing method. So perhaps.
Yes, the shotgun was supposed to be deployed in a similar way to the flamethrower. At the moment much of the 29th Engineers time is devoted to redressing maps for the 70 person server in terms of playability and reinforcement changes with that large a server. However once those are done the old 'toys' projects will continue
